1st edition. Hardback. Blue cloth, attractively embossed in gilt with princes and princesses on front board. Gilt crown and sword decoration and lettering on spine. All edge gilt. Colour frontispiece, tissue guard. With 8 coloured plates and numerous illustrations by H. J. Ford. Contents: small corner tip clipped from tissue guard. Light spotting to endpapers. Small ink blot on some edge extremites (margins and text unaffected). A few slight smudge marks to margins. Otherwise pages generally very good and clean, and illustrations lovely and bright. Previous owner's inscription front endpaper. Boards: exceptionally bright, with just slight shelf-rubbing to top and base of spine. A lovely copy.
